Audience

The target audience for this class is individuals that are looking to enter into the Crestron programming environment, and are looking to be able to make changes to, and create programming for basic single room systems.

Overview

This four day course will teach the basic programming skills a new Crestron programmer needs in the field.

Objectives

Upon successful completion you will be able to create and troubleshoot programming for a basic single room system. In addition you will learn to create your own modules based on the programming you have created.

Prerequisites

Completion of Introduction to Crestron Systems online and Toolbox online
Knowledge of Crestron Device IDs and IP Tables
Basic Knowledge of Networking
Understanding of how to upload to processors and touchscreens
Proficient Microsoft Windows

Software

All software listed below must be downloaded and installed prior to class. Please make sure you download all of the software listed below even if you don't think your particular class will use it. Some of the software listed below runs in the background.

Use Crestron MasterInstaller to aid in your software installation. You will need the following software installed and verified to work for this class.

  • Smart Graphics
  • Crestron Toolbox
  • SIMPL Windows
  • VT Proe
  • SIMPL+ Cross Compiler

Minimum PC Requirements:

  • Windows 7 or higher
  • 2GHZ processor (i7 multicore recommended)
  • 4.0 GB RAM (8.0 GB recommended)
  • 1.2 GB available disk space
  • USB Port
  • Ethernet Port
  • 1280x800 screen resolution
  • External mouse
  • Adobe Flash
